HASAN Piker has been BANNED from Twitch – allegedly over “anti-white racism”.
The Twitch star is famous for streaming political debates, but vanished from the app overnight on December 14.
Who is Hasan Piker?
Hasan Piker is a popular Twitch star who streams under the name HasanAbi.
He’s one of the most viewed streamers on the platform.
Piker previously worked as a journalist, and is a well-known left-wing political commentator.
During streams, Piker plays video games, talks about the news, and discusses politics.
Piker was born in New Jersey and raised in Istanbul, Turkey.
He has millions of Twitch followers and has racked up tens of millions of views.
The streamer is also popular on YouTube, with more than 160million views in total.
Why has Hasan Piker been banned on Twitch?
Piker was banned from Twitch on December 14.
He claims he was banned for “anti-white racism” after using the word “cracker” during a stream.
In a tweet, he wrote: “It is for exactly what you think it is. Anti-white racism for using the term ‘cracker’.”
Twitch hasn’t formally shared its ban reason – which is par for the course.
But Twitch does prohibit hateful and racist content in its terms of service.
“We will take action on all instances of hateful conduct and harassment,” the Twitch policy reads.
“The most egregious violations may result in an indefinite suspension on the first offence.”
We’ve asked Twitch for comment and will update this story with any response.
Will Hasan return to Twitch?
It’s currently unclear if Hasan will return to Twitch.
Piker has a very popular YouTube channel, so he doesn’t entirely rely on Twitch for success.
In a tweet, Piker said he had “lined up some fire content” that he’ll no longer be able to do.
That included a gingerbread house building stream, playing the new Halo Infinite game, and a hot tub stream with legendary Twitch star Amouranth – who has also been banned previously.
What games does Hasan play on Twitch?
Piker regularly plays video games on Twitch alongside politics discussion.
He’s previously shared playthroughs of God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and The Last of Us Part 2.
And Piker has also taken part in Among Us streams.
But the star is best known for his discussion streams, particularly around politics.
