TOP Tory Iain Duncan Smith has had his constituency office daubed in graffiti by a single masked vandal.
The former Tory party leader tweeted a snap of the damage to his office which had Tories out and Tory cuts kill scrawled on the building.
Similar remarks were also sprayed onto the train station in his Chingford and Woodford Green constituency, which he has represented since 1992.
He told HOAR he has handed CCTV over to the Met Police which showed a man parking his bike near the office before scrawling the slurs on his office.
Mr Duncan Smith said: Unfortunately he had his face covered, but he came around just after midnight.
The police have been over and have been taking it all very seriously.
‘SIGN OF DESPERATION’
The candidate added that he thought the pathetic graffiti was a sign of desperation.
He said: This is an attempt to intimidate and is in keeping with the death threat I received last year and the similar vandalism on my office in 2018.
He added: I think its a real sign of desperation that these people resort to doing this, as they know we are getting more support than we did in 2017.
Even the staunchest Labour voters are telling us they have a problem with Jeremy Corbyn.
Wes Streeting, who is standing for Labour in nearby Ilford North said he is completely appalled by the vandalism and added there was no justification for the act.
He said: Candidates and their volunteers should not have to suffer vandalism or intimidation.
Iain and his team have our full support against this kind of behaviour, which is unacceptable in our democracy.
