LIKE the rest of us the Queen has been in lockdown for the past five weeks, isolating at private apartment in Windsor.
And it seems like the monarch’s routine has received a bit of a mix up with some of her favourite activities now off limits.
The Queen has been isolating with Prince Philip despite the fact that he normally chooses to spend his time at Wood Farm on their Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The couple are staying in the Upper Ward, a quadrangle of apartments at Windsor Castle where around “a dozen” staff have remained, the Times reports.
And being unable to leave the apartment has meant that Her Majesty has been missing out on visiting her beloved horses.
The Daily Mail suggests that the Queen may be avoiding riding to avoid photographers capturing her enjoying herself during the pandemic.
According to the newspaper the monarch has been passing the time by “avidly” watching the news.
The Queen is also likely to be being kept busy with her flock of 100 budgies, a gift given to her in the 1930s which she keeps at Windsor.
Unable to visit family members, the monarch has been embracing technology to keep up to date with her nearest and dearest.
According to Mirror, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have already been sending ‘chatty videos’ to keep in touch with their great-grandmother, who they affectionately call ‘Gan Gan’.
Her Majesty, who turned 94 this week, has also been keeping up with her royal duties while in isolation.
Earlier this month the monarch appointed her cousin, Lady Elizabeth Shakerly, as commander of the Royal Victorian Order as the Court Circular showed in its records.
