Nile, 27, opened the episode with a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-themed performance alongside his professional skating partner Olivia Smart.

The pair have been pushing themselves as the competition heats up.

Sharing a clip of himself in training, Nile was seen spinning around on the ice, until he took a tumble and landed on his bottom.

He took it in good humour and laughed off the slippery fall, despite appearing to be in some agony.

He captioned the post: “Pushing limits & stepping up our game baby. Exciting times.”

His fans praised the contestant for his determination, with one writing: “How you honestly survive the week I don’t know.”

Another posted: “Do your friends and family feel the need to wrap you in bubble wrap?! Stay safe.”

On Sunday, Nile blew the judges away – with Christopher Dean describing the routine as “bang-banging fantastic”.

Ashley Banjo agreed and added: “It was jam-packed full of content but you made it look easy… That is next level, my friend.”

After the first episode fans were convinced that Nile stands a strong chance of lifting the trophy this year.

The Olympic bronze-winning gymnast topped the leaderboard with 29.5 out of a possible 40 with his first routine to Harry Styles track, Sign Of The Times for his debut performance.

During the performance, he impressed with tricky jumps and lifts, leaving fans stunned with his skills after just a few months of training.

As a result, he’s already being declared a winner in the eyes of the public.

“What a fantastic performance from Nile Wilson on Dancing on Ice, he’s my favourite and my winner,” one fan wrote.

“Wow, Nile’s performance. Potential winner!” said another, while a third simply wrote: “There’s your winner. Nile”

“Ok, Nile is officially my winner. Right now,” said a fourth, while a fifth said: “Wow, there’s ya winner, great song too, well done Nile.”

John Fashanu became the first celeb to depart the ITTV competition, followed by Michelle Heaton on Sunday night.
