Love Island alum Amber, 27, had gone up against him in the dreaded skate-off, after the pair received the fewest number of votes.

But after celebrating her secure place in the competition, the West End actress headed to X, formerly Twitter, where she read some nasty comments about herself.

She soon tweeted, “Gosh I should not have come on here.”

Amber was left in tears as she honoured her mum Susan in her Spice Girls routine.

Meanwhile, former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas broke down as he remembered his late father.

Following all of the performances, hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern revealed Amber and Ricky would go head-to-head.

In nail-biting scenes the presenters announced Ricky had lost his place in the competition following the judges’ decision.

Ricky was clearly gutted by the decision but said he was so proud at how far he’d come.

Speaking to Ricky after the result, Holly said: “It’s always sorry to say goodbye to anyone, but I feel like you’ve proved yourself.

“You’ve had your highest score, you seemed to have enjoyed it more than any week you’ve had so far.”

Ricky then said: “I have, man, from not being able to walk on the ice to getting to this point right here – I never thought I’d make it this far so I’m just so pleased and i appreciate all of you guys.”

When asked about his time working with Annette Dytrt, he said: “She’s amazing, she pushed me, she believed in me every single week, every single day and I don’t know where we would have been without her, I don’t know where I would have been without you sweetheart.”

Reacting to the result, fans flooded social media with their reactions.

One said: “Sad to see Ricky go! We love to see back in eastenders after all we never seen a body (and yes I am delusional).”

A second wrote: “Absolute disgrace that they put someone through who is literally stuck to their partner & spends a lot of time being lifted over the one who actually skated on his own? Really hoping this is the last series now as it’s losing its last shred of integrity.”

“Oh FFS Ricky may not be the best but at least he skates on he’s own, does lifts etc and yet he gets voted out,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Love Ricky, going to miss him on #DancingOnIce let’s hope we see him back on our screens soon.”
