Hard-up households have just weeks left to apply for £350 in cost of living cash this winter. The money is available through the government's Household Support Fund (HSF), with a total pot of £842 million being distributed by the Department of Work and Pensions. But time is running out, so make sure to check if you're eligible and apply as soon as possible.
Apply Before January 26
Each council has been allocated a portion of the money to give to families who make less than £50,000. The amount you can claim depends on your location and how your council chooses to pay you. Some councils are offering bank transfers, while others are providing assistance through food or utility bill vouchers. For example, East Riding Council in Yorkshire is making payments to eligible households, but applications must be submitted before January 26.
Who is Eligible?
For those receiving council tax support and living in a property with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of F, G, or H, and if a member of your household is disabled, or if you or your partner are between 18-24 years old and responsible for paying council tax, you may be eligible for a bank transfer of £350.
Working households can also apply if they meet the following criteria: they are working but not receiving any benefits, their income is below £28,000 per year for single households or under £33,000 per year for other households, and they have less than £6,000 in savings or in a bank account.
Unpaid carer households can also receive help if they meet the following conditions: they are an East Riding resident, they are an unpaid adult carer for someone receiving a disability payment, their income is below £28,000 per year for single households or under £33,000 per year for other households, and they have less than £6,000 in savings or in a bank account.

Working and unpaid carer households will receive a payment of £350 directly into their bank accounts within 20 days of submitting their applications.
