PHILLIP Schofield’sDancing On Ice family have planned a tribute for him on Sunday after he came out as gay, the Sun Online can reveal.

They will raise a toast to him backstage after being “incredibly proud of his bravery,” after earliertoday Phillip, 57, appeared on This Morning after revealing on Instagram he had “been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.”

Dancing On Ice stars have been overwhelmed by Phillip’s bravery and have declared their support for him by planning a small tribute to him when they are altogether for the live show on Sunday.

A source exclusively told the Sun Online: “Phillip is a huge part of the Dancing on Ice team and they want him to know they are there for him 100 per cent.

“The cast are ridiculously proud of him. They will definitely be there to support him at the live show on Sunday and raise a glass to him.

“It’s nothing but love and hugs as he is a massive part of the family, so this is major.”

John Barrowman has already led stars of the show in paying tribute to Phillip.

The new judge wrote on Instagram: “So proud of you and your family Phillip. Welcome to your truth and authentic self. The nation loves you for who you are! You are @schofe Cant wait to hug you and dont worry we got your back we are #LGBTQ+strong welcome to the family. JB.”

Ashley Banjo wrote: “So much Love and respect@schofe.”

Ian H Watkins who made history this year as the first same sex couple to appear on the ITV show alongside pro partner Matt Evers, took to Instagram too.

Pro skater Matt left a poignant message for his good friend Phillip

He wrote: “Bravo Phillip for your honesty.. Coming out is difficult but your family, friends and fans will be proud of you being your authentic self.. Im proud of your bravery.. Welcome officially to our beautiful rainbow family! We and our allys will keep you safe xx”

Matt, who has worked with Phil on the show for 15 years, send out a heartfelt post.

He said: “Thank you @Schoffe for your bravery and honesty. Being your friend and colleague for the past 15 years I’m sending you and your family all the love and support. #loveislove.”

Trisha Goddard, who starred in this year’s show wrote: “Some will be shocked.
