And now Ryan, who played Jason Grimshaw for 16 years in Coronation Street, is already looking ahead to his next gig.

Ryan has revealed he’s eyeing up a return to acting, having quit the Weatherfield cobbles in 2016.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the dad-of-three explained: “Returning to acting is something I have been talking about.

“It is my trade after all, so I need to use that to the best of my advantage.”

However, he cautioned: “There’s no definite role and it would all depend on what comes up but we’ll see what happens.”

Ryan also starred in Asutralian soap opera Neighbours for a brief while back in 2018.

He played the role of Rafael Humphreys who was on a vengeance for Paul Robinson over the death of his mother.

Rafael’s mother had worked in the businessman’s factory but the star later left Ramsay St after discovering Paul wasn’t responsible for her death.

Ryan, who is engaged to Lucy Mecklenburgh, also took part in Celebrity Big Brother.

He appeared on Channel 5’s last series of the hit reality show in 2018 – in what became one of the show’s most controversial series yet.

Former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett had exaggerated a playful punch from Ryan Thomas which infuriated viewers and led to thousands of Ofcom complaints.
