Danielle Harold, the latest contestant to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity, has opened up about a secret struggle she faced during her time in the jungle. The former EastEnders actress, who played Lola Pearce on the BBC soap, spoke about the difficulties she endured that were not shown on camera.

“So hard”: Danielle Harold’s hidden jungle battle

Danielle, 31, revealed that she was “eaten alive” by ants while living in the Australian camp. The constant rain in the jungle made things even worse, bringing out additional creatures such as blood-sucking leeches.

“The jungle eats you alive”

Describing her experience, Danielle said, “Listen, that jungle eats you alive. I’ve been eaten by ants. The smallest thing in that jungle is the worst.” She emphasized the difficulty of living in the jungle and expressed empathy for the contestants in previous seasons.

“So, so tough”: Jungle life and the impact of wet weather

Danielle described jungle life as “so, so tough” and explained that the unusual wet weather affected everyone in camp. The rain brought out leeches and various animal creatures, making their presence challenging for the contestants. She jokingly mentioned that the animals and mosquitoes seemed to have better meals than the campmates.

Fifth campmate to leave the show

Danielle was the fifth campmate to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity. After receiving the least amount of public votes, she competed against boxer Tony Bellew in the bottom two. Upon leaving the camp, she was greeted by her mother and taken to the evicted celebrities’ luxury hotel.

“He has become a little brother to me”: Danielle’s bond with Sam Thompson

During her exit interview with Ant and Dec, Danielle referred to fellow contestant Sam Thompson as her “little brother.” She expressed her fondness for him and attributed their bond to their shared eccentricities.

A swipe at Fred Sirieix

When asked about who was the better chef between Josie Gibson and Fred Sirieix, Danielle cheekily chose Josie, stating, “I prefer the home cooking.”
