End of an Era for Popular Seaside Shop

A well-known joke shop in the beloved seaside town of Blackpool is preparing to close its doors for the last time. Drummers House of Joke, which has proudly occupied its spot on Central Drive for over five decades, will be shutting down due to a £300m regeneration project.

Compulsory Purchase Order Spurs Closure

The closure of Drummers House of Joke comes as a result of a compulsory purchase order issued by regeneration chiefs. The shop will be making way for the development of the exciting new £300m Blackpool Central project.

Relocation Plans

Although the iconic joke shop will be saying goodbye to its long-standing location, it will maintain a presence in town. The shop owners have announced that they will be relocating their joke shop to a new spot on the corner of the Promenade and Waterloo Rd in South Shore.

Fans Share Fond Memories

Fans of Drummers House of Joke have taken to social media to express their sadness at the closure and share their favorite memories of the store. Many reminisce about visiting the shop every year during their trips to Blackpool and purchasing pranks and jokes with their pocket money.

Demolition to Make Way for 'Heritage Quarter'

With the closure of Drummers House of Joke, the building will be demolished to make space for a brand new "heritage quarter." The plans for the area include three indoor theme parks, a 200-room hotel, as well as bars, restaurants, and an outdoor entertainment space.
