I’m A Celebrity viewers were in shock tonight as Fred Sirieix became the third campmate to be evicted from the jungle. He followed Frankie Dettori, who was first out on Sunday, and Nella Rose, who was given her marching orders on Monday night.

Fred Sirieix has been evicted third

“It’s like another life really,” he said as he reflected on his time in the jungle with hosts Ant and Dec, just seconds after being evicted. “I found it quite easy because I really prepared myself mentally,” he said. “When I did the challenges I found it quite easily actually because I was very focused.”

When quizzed about his reluctance to let Josie Gibson cook in camp, he explained: “Yeah, because she doesn’t know what she does in the kitchen, she just makes it up as she goes along.”

Fred claimed she didn’t plan the meals well enough so they had enough leftovers. He added: “You really need the calories, I think we missed out on a good few meals.”

Asked about his tricky relationship with Nigel Farage, Fred claimed he hadn’t changed his opinion on the politician. He revealed: “It was great in the camp because Nigel is a doer and I am a doer, but there is a side of Nigel Farage that I cannot connect with and will never connect with.”

Fred has received quite a lot of backlash from some viewers for ‘taking over’ the trials when the camp had to decide who took them on. Tonight, many took to social media after he suggested Sam Thompson wasn’t ‘man’ enough to take part in the Fly On The Wall task with Marvin.

But Fred defended himself, insisting he was entitled to do the trials for the last two nights. “I think because I wasn’t voted by the public to do any trials, I think it was fair, I put myself forward. It was pre-agreed [with the camp].”

As the brief interview wrapped, Fred was asked who he wants to win. “Win what?” he said, confused. before Ant and Dec joked that they were talking about the football. Finally cottoning on, he laughed and said: “I think Sam would be a good winner.”
