Nella Rose‘s argument and alleged racial offense cause uproar

In just one week, ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has received over 1,800 complaints from outraged viewers, according to Ofcom. The complaints were sparked by several episodes that aired last week, with Tuesday’s episode generating the most backlash. Of the 907 complaints received for that episode, 861 were directed at Nella Rose’s argument with Fred Siriex. The following day, 898 fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the show, with 856 of them specifically addressing Nella’s alleged racial comments towards Nigel Farage.

Controversial casting and mocking of Sunderland adds fuel to the fire

But the complaints don’t end there. ITV faced an additional 1,000 complaints after featuring Nigel Farage on the show. Campaign group Best for Britain called for a boycott, claiming that his presence is “not good for our country.” Furthermore, Ant and Dec, the show’s hosts, faced criticism for mocking Sunderland, a city in the northeast of England. Their comments about right-wing politics and their comparison of the outback to Sunderland in the series premiere angered some viewers. So far, 103 fans have expressed their frustration to Ofcom over these issues.

Other grievances include mocking GB News and Nigel Farage’s bum

In addition to the aforementioned complaints, viewers were also upset by Ant and Dec’s mocking of the viewership of conservative news channel GB News, where Nigel Farage has his own program. The hosts regularly gave shoutouts to “Keith and Linda” on GB News, which didn’t sit well with some fans. Lastly, some viewers wanted to complain to Ofcom after catching a glimpse of Nigel Farage’s behind on the show.

Overall, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here has been met with a wave of criticism and generated a significant number of complaints, highlighting the controversial moments that have unfolded on the show.
