Harry Potter fans hit out at Matt and Owen after they struggled to answer a question about Sirius Black, left, who is played by Gary Oldman

The campmates didn’t impress viewers however, with I’m A Celeb fans flocking to social media to share their disbelief as both Matt and Owen struggled to answer an “easy” question about the hit JK Rowling franchise.

The pair were asked: “Who played Sirius Black in Harry Potter?”

One viewer wrote: “Wasting a lifeline on an easy question I’ll take it Owen’s never watched Harry Potter.. #ImACeleb”

Another showed off their Harry Potter knowledge, writing: “Gary Oldman. Easy #ImACeleb”

A third added: “Easy first question ffs #ImACeleb”

After blundering through the possible answers, the pair eventually got the answer right after using a lifeline to get to the bottom of the question.

Matt and Owen were left covered in slime and brown sauce by the end of the trial.

Eventually their I’m A Celeb co-stars stepped in to help by making noises when Ant and Dec read out the possible answers.

During a question about who hadn’t won a Sports Personality Award, the celebrity contestants began to cough and make noises.

Noticing the campmates’ attempt at cheating, presenter Declan Donnelly stopped the trial.

He said: “We’re going to stop there as there was some audience cheating then… so we’re going to have to take your answer of C Michael Owen.”

Greeted by disapproving groans from the celebrities, the host added firmly: “It was your final answer as you all coughed! That was the rules guys!”

I’m A Celeb fans also reacted to Matt competing in yet another trial, with one tweeting: “me waiting for someone other than Matt to do a trail #ImACeleb” alongside a picture of family guy’s Peter Griffin looking bored.

Another complained: “can we stop voting matt do to tasks yet i’m sick of him having so much screen time #ImACeleb”
