Farage‘s Tough Trials

I’m A Celebrity finalist Nigel Farage faced a barrage of tough trials during his time in camp but has revealed one challenge left the campers “seriously ill”. The politician, 59, has revealed his experience was so good he’d be up for doing the show again, but accused ITV of pushing the stars too hard.

A Nightmare Drinking Challenge

In his first drinking trial, Nigel and Tony Bellew, 41, went head-to-head and had to drink 12 pints of rank liquids – including blended cow anus and blended bull penis. The pair also drank a fermented duck egg and blended vomit fruit. Nigel alleged: “The drinking challenge was a nightmare they will never repeat. They made us seriously ill. Tony was throwing up all afternoon and all evening. He was chucking his guts up. I was lying there propped up against the log for hours. I probably should have chucked it up really.”

The Aftermath

Viewers had no idea of the aftermath of the tough trial. Nigel said he went on to stop the process part way through and demanded his drinks be blended more so he could finish the trial. He said: “It was more like porridge. Halfway through I said to Ant and Dec, ‘Alright, you told me this was a time unlimited trial. So I’m going to drink all six. Tony might end up in hospital and you might be here till three o’clock because I cannot take the weight of this heavy stuff’. So they liquefied the last three pints so they were less stodgy. I necked all of the last three.”

Weather Woes

Nigel also struggled with the bad weather, adding: “Wet socks was the biggest problem I had. I had blisters due to wet socks. In those rainy days it was pretty depressing. The end of my bed was literally drenched night after night.”

Farewell to the Jungle

Nigel came third to boxer Tony and King of the Jungle Sam Thompson in Sunday’s night final. He will fly back to the UK on Tuesday with his girlfriend of six years Laure Ferarri and his daughter Izzy, 18, who told HOAR she was “so proud” of her dad as she sat in during his interview. As well as making new memories and pushing himself to his limit, Nigel said there were some things he was leaving behind – including those very tight green shorts from the Celebrity Cyclone trial. He laughed: “They are in the bin.” Of his jungle journey, Nigel added: “It was a bit of self-discovery, I genuinely now think I could deal with everything. Nothing frightens me.”
