LOVE Island fans were all left saying the same thing as the show introduced a huge new format shake-up.

The ITV2 show kicked off in a style that had never been seen before.

Jess and Ruchee were first in but they were quickly joined by the show’s first boy

Mitchel strolled in third which caused confusion among fans

As the contestants made their way into the infamous villa, the boys and girls were all mixed up in a show first.

Usually, all of the girls or the boys head into the villa first before their potential partners enter one by one.

However, in a new switch, the first two girls, Ruchee, 24, and Jess, 22, were surprised when Sheffield based Mitchel, 26, burst through the doors.

The trio were left perplexed as they were stunned they had the chance to mingle before the coupling up process had begun.

Viewers at home were left utterly stunned at producers throwing the rule book out of the window for the a brand new format.

The shake-up was as a result of the public vote determining who would be coupling up with who.

Commenting on Twitter, one fan said: “Bringing a boy in??? WOZ GOING ON.”

A second let out their shock, writing: “Wait, what?!? A boy????”

Another added: “Mandem and girls are mixing this time? Interesting… what are they plotting here.”

Viewer opinion was left divided as some were thrilled over the introduction of the mixed sex format change whilst some others were unconvinved.

One wrote: “Not going to lie I’m really digging the format change.”

However, a fellow fan disagreed as they penned: “This has to be the worst format ever.”
