Asda launches new loyalty scheme game, giving shoppers a chance to win up to £100

Asda has unveiled a new game in its loyalty app, giving shoppers the opportunity to win up to £100. The "Spin the Wheel" game offers customers a minimum 50p prize every time they play, with the chance to win £1, £5, or £100. However, there's a catch: shoppers must spend a minimum of £5 before they can play. The offer is only available in September.

Shoppers take to social media to share their winnings

Since the launch of the game, shoppers have been sharing their success stories on social media. Some lucky winners have already won the top prize of £100. This marks the one-year anniversary of Asda's Rewards loyalty scheme.

Important tip: Only play if you were going to spend £5 anyway

While the game offers the chance to win cash prizes, it's important to consider whether it's worth spending money on products you don't need just to play. There is no guarantee of winning more than 50p or £1. So, only participate in the Spin the Wheel game if you were planning to spend £5 anyway.

How does the Asda Rewards app work?

The Asda Rewards app allows shoppers to earn "Asda Pounds" when shopping in-store or online and completing certain tasks. These Pounds are collected in a "Cashpot," which can then be converted into vouchers for future purchases. For example, spending £5 on chilled burgers and buns could add £1 to your Cashpot. Additionally, customers can get a 10% boost on their Pounds by purchasing "Star" products, which are regularly updated on the app. The loyalty app is available for free download on both Google Play and the App Store. Simply scan the app at the till during each shop to add Pounds to your account.

In other news, McDonald's is removing two items from its menu in the coming days. Additionally, a major insurer will pay out £30 million in compensation to customers who were overcharged.
