What to Do If Your Local Branch Closes

While some customers are comfortable with online banking, the closure of branches can be concerning for others. Many elderly people, especially those in rural areas, rely on their local branch for day-to-day tasks. However, there are options available if your branch is closing.

Most basic banking tasks can be carried out at the Post Office, although you won't be able to apply for a loan or open a new bank account. Many banks now offer a mobile banking service, bringing a bus to the area to provide services that the branch used to offer. Contact your bank to find out what options are available and if they provide a mobile banking service. Other banks may also use buildings such as village halls or libraries to offer mobile banking services.

Before your local branch closes, it's a good idea to check with them directly to find out what alternatives are available. You can also reach out to them over the telephone for assistance.
