Prime Energy Drinks at a Major Discount

Shoppers have been left in stitches after a bargain shop decided to sell Prime energy drinks for just 50p each. BrandMax in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, is offering the bottled drink at a significant discount, leading customers to joke that "no one wants to buy them."

Prime: A Major Success

Prime, a product line of sports drinks, drink mixes, and energy drinks, has been incredibly popular since its release in 2022 by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul. The drinks were primarily popular with schoolboys and teens, selling like hot cakes during their first year of production. Some fans even resold the £1.99 drink online for exorbitant prices.

A Drastic Drop in Demand?

Despite the initial high demand, it appears that the popularity of Prime may be decreasing. BrandMax's decision to sell the drinks at a "2 for £1" deal suggests a significant drop in customer demand. An anonymous member of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook shared a photo of the shop's shelves filled with rows of Prime bottles, promoting the deal.

Shoppers Amused by the Discount

Many shoppers found the drastic discount amusing, especially considering the previously high prices the drink commanded. Some joked about the individuals who had paid over the odds for Prime bottles, while others speculated about the surplus of stock causing a price decrease. One shopper even suggested that the drinks were being sold at 50p "because no one wants them."

New Version of Prime Coming Soon

Last month, it was announced that a new version of Prime would be released in the UK after the previous version sold out in Aldi and Asda stores. The new version offers ten calories, zero sugar, and 300mg of electrolytes, but it is intended for individuals aged 18 and over. However, a doctor has warned parents not to give the popular Prime drink to their children due to its high caffeine content.

Both BrandMax and Prime have been contacted for comment regarding the discounted prices.
