Household Support Fund Offers Assistance

Brits can now get their hands on food vouchers worth up to £300 to help with their weekly supermarket shop. These vouchers can be used at popular stores such as Tesco, Asda, and Iceland, among others. The assistance comes through the Household Support Fund (HSF), which has been allocated £842 million by the government to be distributed by local councils in England.

How to Qualify and Apply

Eligibility and the amount received will be based on income and spending, and individuals do not need to be on benefits to qualify. Residents in Manchester's Bury, located between Bolton and Rochdale, can receive between £100 and £300. Applications can be made through the Bury Council website, where a form must be filled out and evidence of eligibility provided.

Supermarkets Accepting Vouchers

The food vouchers can be used at various supermarkets, including Tesco, Asda, Iceland, Morrison's, M&S, and Sainsbury's. This provides families with flexibility in choosing where to shop and use their vouchers.

Additional Assistance Available

If individuals are not eligible for the HSF scheme, there are other options for support. Millions are set to receive cost of living payments worth up to £1,350, with the first installment already paid to those on certain benefits. Additionally, eligible pensioners will receive a Winter Fuel Payment, including an extra £150 or £300, depending on their circumstances.

Take Advantage of the Help

Make sure to apply for the Household Support Fund and take advantage of the food vouchers that can ease the burden of grocery costs. Remember that other forms of assistance may be available, so explore all options to ensure you receive the support you need.
