Elaine Cusick, 69, and husband Eddie enjoy dream trip to Sydney after big win
A grandmother from Scotland has shared her experience of winning a £1 million jackpot in the People's Postcode Lottery. Elaine Cusick, 69, and her husband Eddie wasted no time in jetting off to Sydney to celebrate their good fortune.
A Generous Gesture
While on their two-week holiday, Elaine and Eddie showed their generosity by sharing more than half of their winnings with their family members. They gifted each of their daughters £10,000 and each of their grandchildren £5,000.
A Trip of a Lifetime
Elaine described their trip to Sydney as a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" and expressed their joy at being able to fulfill one of Eddie's dreams of witnessing the New Year fireworks in the city. They were able to capture amazing photos of the fireworks from a special vantage point.
A Heartwarming Surprise
Elaine admitted to being "totally shocked" by the win and never expected to receive such a large sum of money. She plans to use some of her winnings to buy herself a car and support her children. Despite the win, Elaine intends to continue playing the lottery, as the small monthly fee of £12 goes towards supporting charities.
Celebrating Christmas All Year Round
Elaine shared her excitement about being able to give her family a great Christmas and revealed that she loves the holiday so much that her family now affectionately calls her "Mrs Christmas". She even transformed her garden into a Christmas wonderland during the COVID-19 pandemic to bring some joy to her loved ones.
Elaine's win serves as a reminder of the life-changing nature of lottery prizes and the joy they can bring to both winners and their families.
