Testing the cost-saving potential of a cheap dehumidifier
I decided to put a cheap dehumidifier to the test to see if it could save me money on drying my clothes. The results were surprising.
Choosing the right dehumidifier
Living in an old Victorian building, I needed a solution to dry my clothes faster. I purchased a £30 dehumidifier from B&M to see if it could replace my expensive tumble dryer.
The test and the results
I hung my clothes on an airer and placed the dehumidifier underneath. Within a few hours, my clothes were completely dry. I was amazed at how quick and efficient the dehumidifier was.
The cost comparison
Running the dehumidifier for 7 hours cost me just 70p, compared to £1.72 for a tumble dryer cycle. Over a year, this could save me £16.64.
The verdict
The dehumidifier proved to be a cost-effective alternative to the tumble dryer. It was cheaper to run and dried my clothes just as well. I will be switching to the dehumidifier for future laundry needs.
