Wetherspoons is known for its cheap drinks and meals, but one superfan has revealed a money-saving trick that could save you £60 a year.

The Club Nights

Nicola Frapwell, a self-confessed Wetherspoons superfan, has been visiting the pubs for years and has discovered a way to save even more money. She advises opting for the chain's "Club" nights, where they drop prices on certain foods for one day only.

One of Nicola's favorite options is the Curry night, which runs every Thursday. On this night, a main with rice, naan, poppadoms, and a soft drink costs £7.80, compared to the normal price of £8.95. Even the same meal with an alcoholic drink is cheaper on Thursdays, costing £9.10 instead of £10.25.

If you bought this meal deal every week for a year, you would save £60 overall.

Nicola raves about the quality of the curry, saying it's just as good as a proper Indian. She also praises the portion size and the affordability of the meal.

Another Club night worth trying is Fish Fridays, according to Nicola. She says it offers a good portion size and good value for money, with a generous piece of fish.

Other Money-Saving Tips

Nicola also shares some additional ways to save money at Wetherspoons. Customers can enjoy free refills on hot drinks, excluding takeaway, seven days a week. Nicola suggests this is a great option for older people who may be a bit lonely, as they can catch up with locals and spend the afternoon in the pub without having to keep buying more hot drinks. The price for the free refill option varies but is around 99p.

If you took advantage of this offer and had three hot drinks, you could save £2 each visit. Over the course of a year, that would add up to over £100 in savings.

Short drinks are also worth the money, says Nicola. Wetherspoons offers premium brands such as Beefeater, Gordons, Sailor Jerry's, and Bombay Sapphire. Prices start around £2-£3 for a single, and if you want a double, it will only cost you around £1 extra.

Nicola believes Wetherspoons is a perfect place to start your night out, especially with the rising cost of living. It allows people to go out and have fun without spending a lot.

Other News

In other Wetherspoons news, the pub chain is slashing prices across all its boozers in September. However, they recently canceled plans to open half a dozen new pubs, which may disappoint some customers.
