Costa Coffee

Coffee lovers in Oakham, West Midlands, are saying goodbye to yet another branch of Costa Coffee as the chain continues to experience closures. Costa Coffee, which has over 2,000 sites, has made the decision to shut down its cafe on Church Street in just seven days time. This closure follows a series of other store closures in recent months.

Continued Losses

Costa Coffee's closure in Oakham adds to the long list of shops and businesses in the area that have been forced to close over the last year. Locals have also lost the Rutland Refill, a deli, coffee shop, and grocery store, as well as their Wilko store in recent weeks.

Options for Coffee Lovers

Although the Church Street branch is closing, Costa Coffee fans in Oakham can still enjoy their favorite drink at the company's nearby drive-thru on Lands' End Way. The drive-thru station opened last year and is less than a ten-minute drive from the soon-to-be-closed branch.

Job Security

Costa Coffee is ensuring that its staff are not negatively affected by the closure. All team members from the Church Street branch will be transferred to the nearby drive-thru, allowing them to continue working and serving the local community.

Other Closures

In addition to the Oakham closure, Costa Coffee has recently closed the doors for a final time at four other locations. These include branches in West Bridgford, near Nottingham, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, Witney, and Wigan. However, the chain has stated that two of its sites will be temporarily closed for revamps and will reopen later this year.
