A man's fairytale turned into a nightmare after he married a topless model following a £2.8 million lotto jackpot win, only to see the marriage crumble and lose everything. Mike Antonucci, an antique dealer, hit the lucky numbers in 1995 and decided to tie the knot with 22-year-old Kelly Arkins in a lavish £10,000 ceremony in the Bahamas.

Marriage Lasted Just 12 Weeks

The marriage between Mike and Kelly, who is 28 years his junior, lasted a mere 12 weeks and ended in disaster. Mike revealed that the marriage was never consummated and that he hadn't even had sex with Kelly since before the wedding. Despite the failed marriage, Mike lived a luxurious lifestyle filled with fast cars, yachts, and luxury holidays.

From Rags to Riches and Back Again

With his newfound wealth, Mike invested in various businesses, including a massage parlour, pub, nightclub, and pop music venue. He also splurged on a £750,000 estate, a £250,000 harbour-side apartment, and a £200,000 speedboat. However, his money didn't last forever. Mike's businesses failed, and he eventually found himself back in the recycling business, clearing house furniture.

Downfall and Court Battle

In 2009, Mike ended up in court over a dispute involving just £400. He was charged with assaulting a shop owner who he claimed owed him money and was found guilty, resulting in a £720 fine. Mike's life took a downward spiral, and he even ended up sleeping on a lilo in one of the pubs he owned in Plymouth, Devon. Since then, he has kept a low profile and now works as a furniture exporter, living day to day.

Similar Stories of Lottery Misfortune

Mike's story is not unique. Michael Carroll, known as the "King Of Chavs," won £9.7 million on the National Lottery in 2002 but ended up penniless due to a drug addiction. Jane Park, the youngest ever Brit to win the EuroMillions at 17, felt cursed by her £1 million jackpot and regrets winning it.
