MCDONALD’S is making a big change to its rewards scheme and it means customers can get more food for free.
The fast food giant is introducing a new points milestone within its MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme.
McDonald’s is expanding its rewards scheme
From today (July 10), customers can get four items from its menu for free when they earn a certain amount of points.
The four new items are the Mighty McMuffin, the McSpicy burger, the double quarter pounder and the McCrispy.
On top of that shoppers will now be able to redeem a regular cold soft drink, an apple pie or a filet-o-fish when collecting rewards points via the McDonald’s app.
Here’s the full list of new items added to the rewards scheme and how much you’ll need to earn to get them for free:
- Regular cold soft drink – 1,500 points
- Apple pie – 2,500 points
- Filet-o-fish – 4,000 points
- Might McMuffin – 5,000 points
- McSpicy – 5,000 points
- Double quarter pounder with cheese – 5,000 points
- McCripsy – 5,000 points
Customers who are opted in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and order and pay through the McDonald’s App will automatically earn points on their order.
This includes when you order for delivery.
Alternatively, customers can get a one-time code, which is available in the ‘code’ section of the app at the start of their order at drive-thru, kiosk or counter to earn points on their order.
How can I save on my McDonald’s order?
There are plenty of ways you can save on your next trip to McDonald’s.
But always keep in mind menu prices can vary across different restaurants – so perhaps check prices online first to avoid getting a surprise.
You can get freebies on your birthday if you’ve got the My McDonald’s app – it’s free to download and you’ll only need a few quick details to get set up.
Remember to log your date of birth on the app though, otherwise you’ll miss out.
You can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 as well if you fill out the quick feedback survey following your last visit.
All you’ll need is your receipt which should have been issued no more than 60 days after your visit.
How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?
If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.
The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.
Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.
After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.
