A woman who resides in her car has shared her disappointment with a popular £15 B&M product that many people swear by for keeping warm. However, she has come forward with a better alternative that is only slightly more expensive at £30.

Affordable Heated Blanket: A Cosy Solution for Brits

With the rising cost of living, many Brits are searching for affordable ways to stay warm and save on utility bills. Thankfully, a money-saver has revealed an affordable heated blanket that can provide warmth throughout the night.

Madison Clysdale, a content creator who lives in her car, claims that this item is superior to an electric heater because it doesn't drain batteries. In a TikTok video, she explains, "To stay warm while camping, I tried using a portable power station. However, even with 1200 Watts, the battery would have drained in one hour. The most basic electric heater on high would have been too much for the battery station, so I kept it on low."

Why the B&M Electric Heater Falls Short

Although an electric heater from B&M costs only £15, Clysdale argues that it doesn't function properly. She states, "Even still, it would have died in just over an hour. Plus, objects can burn if they are within 2ft. For this reason, I'd recommend a heated blanket instead."

The Benefits of a Heated Blanket

Clysdale claims that a heated blanket is "more efficient" than a regular plug-in one. She explains, "Mine can last through the night and more than eight hours. The next day, I plug my power station into my car's cigarette outlet and charge it as I drive to the next spot." In the video, she can be seen snuggled under the warm blanket with her dog.

Where to Get the Affordable Heated Blanket

The Double Silentnight Winter Warmer Electric Blanket can be purchased from B&M for £30, while a single one costs £25. The video of Clysdale's recommendation has already received thousands of views and over 50,000 likes from fellow users.

However, some commenters warned against overusing the product due to its potential flammability. One user advised, "Do you actually plan on sleeping with the electric blanket? Because they are dangerous to sleep with and easily flammable."

Other Affordable Winter Energy-Saving Options

As shoppers scramble to find ways to lower their energy bills during the winter, ASDA's George has introduced an affordable heated blanket that costs just 1p an hour to run. Additionally, Farmfoods is selling a heated blanket for the same low cost of 1p an hour.
