BOOZING MPs have spent nearly £500,000 on alcohol in a year — including 2,800 bottles of bubbly.
Bars in the House of Commons served up 46,562 beers, 16,019 bottles of white wine and 8,500 bottles of red.

The £498,951 spend on more than 75,000 order-orders came in a 2022/23 financial year that saw three Prime Ministers and hours of late-night plotting in Parliament.
The bill for champagne — with the own-brand selling for £49 a bottle — and other fizz such as prosecco alone topped £51,100.
Heavily subsidised booze allowed politicians and their pals to celebrate or lament the falls of Boris Johnson and Liz Truss and the rise of Rishi Sunak on the cheap.
MPs have access to eight bars, restaurants and terraces within the Palace of Westminster estate.
While they can bring guests to some, the cheapest ones — such as the House of Commons members’ Tearoom and Smoking Room — are reserved for elected politicians only.
Now, a Freedom of Information Act request has shown MPs sank 7,500 pints of Carlsberg, 6,074 Stellas, 4,300 pints of Guinness, and 4,996 Peronis in 2022/23 — plus 276 Amarettos and 220 Baileys.
Yet despite numerous sunny days on the Thameside terrace, only only 19 Malibu and Cokes were ordered.
