The Prime Minister's two-day trip to the South West also included an abseiling adventure at the Special Olympics and an early-morning run with Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer.

PM Publishes Tax Returns, Revealing Income Details

In addition to his outdoor activities, Prime Minister Sunak recently published his tax returns, providing insight into his earnings. Last year, he earned a total of £2.2 million and paid £508,308 in taxes, resulting in an effective rate of 23%. The majority of his income, £1.8 million, came from capital gains on assets, while his MP and ministerial salary contributed £139,000. It's worth noting that all investment income and capital gains were derived from a blind trust in a US-based investment fund.

Accusations of Being Out of Touch

This week, Rishi Sunak faced criticism for a £1,000 bet he made regarding Rwanda flights taking off before the election. This led to claims that he is out of touch with the concerns of everyday citizens. Meanwhile, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt also disclosed his tax documents, revealing that he paid £117,418 in taxes from an income of £416,605.
