SCHOOLS will be closed on the day of the Queen’s funeral.
Monday 19 September will be a national bank holiday to honour the late monarch, it was announced at the weekend.
Schools will shut next Monday for the funeral
In the same way as other bank holidays, most businesses will shut.
That includes kids going to school, who won’t be expected to be in class on Monday.
But schools will remain open for the rest of the official period of mourning this week.
And they will return to school on the Tuesday after the funeral

Firms are being urged to give workers the day off they can – but it’s up to employers.
There has been no decision yet made on whether the bank holiday will take place every year.
And it’s also not yet known whether there will be another bank holiday for the King’s coronation – and a decision set to be made nearer the time.
Buckingham Palace confirmed Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving monarch in British history, had passed away on Thursday – making her son, Charles, King.
