The Duke of Sussex was called a superstar for his performance

And commentators called him a “superstar” player for his performance today in Colorado, US.

Thunder rumbled overhead as the players received individual prizes before they lifted the Sentable ISPS Handa polo cup together.

Open Levita, a seven-year-old chestnut mare ridden by Harry during his first game, was also awarded best playing pony of the competition.

The annual tournament raises awareness and funds for Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale, which supports children hit by Aids or poverty in Lesotho and Botswana.

Harry took the Sentebale team, named after the charity, to victory in their first game, scoring the first goal in the match.

The final score against team US Polo Assn was 4-2.

Harry charged from one end of the pitch to the other to score again in his second game when they won 3-2 against Royal Salute.

One commentator said: “He went coast to coast, like buttered toast.”

Harry saddled up with his friend, Argentine polo player Nacho Figueras, 45.

They were also in a team with Grant Gazi and Steve Cox.

He said ahead of the tournament: “We’re delighted to return to the stunning grounds of Aspen Valley Polo Club.

“Sixteen years ago, Prince Seeiso and I founded Sentebale in honour of our mothers’ work in HIV, and named after my mum’s favourite flower, the ‘forget-me-not’ in Sesotho, representing our commitment to always remembering and advocating for those in need.

“We are all proud of the support we are able to give the young people of Lesotho and Botswana to feel empowered, healthy, resilient, and able to thrive.

“The funds raised this year will be invested in these communities at a critical time, as inequalities have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

“We are enormously grateful to our partners and supporters here today, especially our long-standing title sponsor, ISPS Handa, for making the day possible.”
