Prince Harry was visibly moved while watching footage of his tours in Afghanistan during a live TV broadcast. The short film, which aired on Germany's ZDF network, featured clips of the Duke shooting a machine gun and disembarking from a plane. It also included a front page from HOAR in February 2008, titled "One Of Our Boys". Harry completed two tours in Afghanistan, serving in Helmand in 2007-2008 and returning in 2012.

Reflecting on His Experience

During the interview, Harry, 38, was asked about his feelings after returning home from the war. He opened up about the emotional impact and the importance of sharing experiences. "I've talked about one experience there because I want to motivate others to talk about theirs," he said. Although he was fortunate not to be injured, Harry mentioned that he witnessed enough injuries during his time in Afghanistan.

Advocating for Wounded Veterans

Notably, Harry expressed disappointment that the film did not feature more wounded veterans like those in the audience. He emphasized the desire to continue serving and supporting those who have had to leave the military due to injuries. "With Invictus Games, we want to give these people the chance to continue to serve, and that's a service that goes beyond wearing the uniform," he explained. Harry acknowledged that being part of this community and hearing similar stories from others was a turning point for him.
