Prince Harry's foray into the world of TV has been met with disappointment by viewers in the UK. Since leaving the royal family in January 2020, he and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, have been involved in producing TV shows and podcasts in America.

TV viewers prefer Piers Morgan

However, the British audience did not rate Harry's work on the small screen, instead showing a preference for Meghan's former adversary, Piers Morgan. Netflix's docuseries "Harry & Meghan" failed to make the longlist for the National Television Awards this year.

Harry's TV interview also snubbed

Harry had been in the running for the TV Interview category with his solo sit-down interview with journalist Tom Bradby, titled "Harry: The Interview." However, it has now been revealed that the 95-minute special for ITV did not make the shortlist. Instead, viewers voted for The Graham Norton Show, Louis Theroux Interviews…, The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, all on the BBC, and TalkTV's "Piers Morgan Uncensored."

Spotify cuts ties with Harry and Meghan

This recent snub comes on the heels of Spotify canceling the couple's podcast, Archewell. The media giant terminated their £18 million contract after just one series. Bill Simmons, from Spotify, called Meghan and Harry "f***ing grifters."

NTA voting process explained

The National Television Awards' voting process begins with a longlist based on TV ratings from BARB. Viewers then vote to choose who makes the shortlist and ultimately who wins.
