Prince Harry will today call his dad from the US to wish King Charles a happy 75th birthday, sources have claimed. The Duke of Sussex last week revealed he had been snubbed from celebrations and did not receive an invitation to the momentous occasion.

Phone Call Olive Branch

A spokesperson for the former royal told the Messenger: "In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday. Meanwhile another source claimed The Palace "never reached out" regarding a birthday invitation. But now it's been revealed that a transatlantic phone call is on the cards. Sources close to the duke told the BBC that Harry will be speaking to his father – and that after the invitation snub the call could be seen as an olive branch.

Private Celebration

King Charles is understood to be welcoming in his 75th birthday today with an intimate gathering of family and close friends. Harry is not thought to have any plans to visit the UK. His next trip abroad is expected to be to Canada to promote his Invictus Games.

Recent Public Appearances

Californian couple Harry and Meghan were both spotted at the final night of singer Katy Perry’s Las Vegas residency earlier this month. Footage showed them arriving at the Resorts World Theatre, where they joined guests including singer Celine Dion in the VIP section.

Tensions and Snubs

It comes as relations between the Duke, King Charles III, and Prince William have been increasingly strained since the fallout from bombshells in his book Spare and his Netflix documentary. Earlier this year, we revealed how Harry snubbed an offer to spend the anniversary of the Queen’s death at Balmoral in Scotland with his father and Queen Camilla. And, the dad-of-two made only a fleeting visit to the King’s coronation in May, before rushing to fly back to Meghan.

Exclusion in Kenya Speech

Meanwhile, Royal fans were horrified as they’re convinced King Charles took a swipe at the estranged pair during his Kenya speech. As His Majesty attended a State Banquet, he spoke of the special significance the country has for his family – but only spoke of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The monarch failed to mention Harry or Meghan.
