PRINCE Harry may have settled down with his family now in California, but he was known to grace the party scene in his younger days.
And according to former nightclub owner Tava O’Halloran who ran the celeb hotspot The Bath House in Liverpool Street, London, the royal was the “perfect bloke who’d buy staff tequila”.
Speaking to Femail, Tava, 41, from Sydney, said: “Prince Harry came down and he was a perfect gentleman – the ideal guest.
“He had drinks, had dinner, tipped the staff really well, bought the staff tequila shots, had a really cool time. The club filled up, they bounced into the crowd for a bit, and then they were gone.
“They were like dream customers, but super friendly, super into it, loved the atmosphere, loved the club.”
Tava said it was highly exciting meeting the prince, and they also welcomed David Schwimmer and Bill Murray the same weekend.
In her racy new memoir Queen of Clubs, which details her addiction to drugs and alcohol on the party scene, Tava said other stars to have attended her A-list quirky East London venue were Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Bjork and Matt Smith.
Before meeting then-Suits actress Meghan Markle, 39, and settling down, Prince Harry, 35, often partied in London.
Speaking of a particularly wild night out in London’s Mayfair in 2007, royal biographer Katie Nicholl said on Channel 5’s Spending Secrets of the Royals: “Prince Harry tried to pay with his Army identity card.”
Having “racked up a pretty sizeable bar bill” while partying with friends and his then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, Katie said: “The barman called for the manager to see exactly what to do about this transaction and the bill was waived.”
Meanwhile, royal expert and editor of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward added: “Prince Harry was, and probably still is, the party boy of the Royal Family.
“He just loved to go out drinking with his mates and go out clubbing.”
While discussing Prince Harry‘s old spending habits, Katie claimed that he “ran up a £30,000 bill” while staying at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas back in 2012.
But when it came around to settling his expenses, Katie added: “Steve Wynn, the owner of the hotel Harry was staying in, just wiped the slate clean.”
It was during Prince Harry’s stay at the luxury hotel in Las Vegas – where suites can cost upwards of £700-a-night – that the Royal was pictured naked in photos that were then leaked online.
It was reported that Prince Harry has since cut down on drinking alcohol, tea and coffee, inspired by healthy wife Meghan.
A source told the Express: “Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement.”
One unnamed friend of Harry was quoted saying: “All she did was show him there’s another way to live and he’s become a huge fan.
“He eats well, doesn’t poison his body, exercises, does a bit of yoga and is a lot happier.”
Another allegedly said: “Now his regime doesn’t make him the most entertaining party guest in the world, but he’s definitely more chilled and relaxed.”
We shared how Prince Harry ‘upset’ he ‘can’t make it’ to Balmoral with Prince William and Kate as Meghan Markle is ‘too busy’ to care.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry plant forget-me-nots in Princess Diana’s memory on 23rd anniversary of her death.
