Labour Leader Urges Scotland Yard to Investigate Duke of York's Epstein Links

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called on Scotland Yard to reopen a criminal investigation into Prince Andrew following new court documents in the United States. The Duke of York has faced fresh scandal after his name appeared on 69 occasions in the unsealed files, which allege his involvement in an underage orgy on a Caribbean island owned by deceased billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Anti-monarchy activists Republic have reported Prince Andrew to the police, and opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated that any credible allegations should be looked into.

Prime Minister Refuses to Comment on Calls for New Investigation

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has declined to support calls for a new investigation, stating that it would not be appropriate for him to comment on police matters. The Metropolitan Police previously closed their investigation into Prince Andrew in October 2021. However, if new and relevant information emerges, they will assess it.

Prince Andrew Denies Allegations and Remains Behind Closed Doors

Prince Andrew has vehemently denied the allegations and claims that he has never met his accuser Virginia Giuffre, who says she was trafficked to have sex with him when she was 17. He reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre almost two years ago. Buckingham Palace has chosen not to comment on the matter.
