WHILE there are many well-known members of the young generation of royals, some have managed to stay out of the spotlight.

Meet Isla Phillips, the granddaughter of Princess Anne.

Isla was born at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, weighing in at seven pounds and four ounces.

She was born on March 29, 2012.

The palace released a statement saying the Queen and her family were "delighted" by her arrival.

"Isla Elizabeth is the second child for Peter and Autumn, the second grandchild for the Princess Royal and the second great-grandchild for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh," the statement read.

Although it has been speculated that Isla's middle name is in honour of the Queen, it has never been officially confirmed.

As Isla has mostly grown up out of the public eye, information regarding her education has remained private.

Her parents are Peter and Autumn Phillips.

The pair tied the knot at St George's Chapel in Windsor on May 17, 2008.

In February 2020, Peter confirmed he was divorcing his wife, saying "it's sad but is best for the kids".

A statement issued on their behalf at the time said: "After informing HM The Queen and members of both families last year, Peter and Autumn jointly agreed to separate.

"They had reached the conclusion that this was the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship.

"The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and although sad, is an amicable one.

"The couple's first priority will remain the continued well being and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla.

"Both families were naturally sad at the announcement, but fully supportive of Peter and Autumn in the joint decision to co-parent their children.

"Both Peter and Autumn have remained in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years."

How is Isla Phillips related to King Charles?

Isla is the daughter of Peter Phillips, Princess Anne's son.

This makes her the great-niece of King Charles.

Peter is 18th in line to the thrones while Peter's older daughter Savannah is 19th and Isla is 20th respectively.

Is Isla Phillips a princess?

Despite her number in the line of succession to the British throne, Isla does not hold the title of Her Royal Highness.

According to the BBC, children of the daughter of a monarch are not "entitled to the rank".

Princess Anne and her ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips, did not have titles.

This was because he wasn't of royal descent.

This meant, their children Peter and Zara, also couldn't have titles, and their children's children couldn't either.

However, Princess Anne reportedly turned down the Queen’s offer of making to make Peter a prince when he was born.

As neither of her parents have a royal rank, Isla doesn't have one either.

Who is Isla Phillips' sister Savannah?

Savannah is the Queen's oldest great-grandchild and Princess Anne's oldest grandchild.

She was born in December 2010 and became the first Canadian citizen to be in the line of succession to the thrones of the Commonwealth realms.

At the time of her birth, Savannah was 12th in line to the throne, but Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have bumped her down the list.

Then came the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and Princess Beatrice's and Princess Eugenie's children Sienna, August, and Ernest, which saw Savannah drop even further in line.
