Coronation Street star Andy Whyment splashes out £25k on modest Kia Nero

CORONATION Street star Andy Whyment has treated himself to a rather modest new purchase.

The actor took to Instagram to showcase the brand new car he purchased for himself and his family.

Andy looked super happy with his brand new purchase

The actor is best known for his role as Kirk Sutherland

Beaming alongside his wife Nichola, Coronation Street star Andy captioned the image: “Thanks to @lee_ablett1974 @bolton_kia for looking after with our new Kia Niro me and @nicski31 are absolutely made up with it.”

Andy’s new buy will have set him back £25,000 despite his high-flying £125,000 salary as Corrie fave Kirk Sutherland.

The soap veteran look smartly dressed in a simple black zip-up polo shirt paired with some dark denim jeans.

He completed his look for the day with a smart pair of classic black shoes as he put his arm around the car dealer who posed alongside the married pair.

The I’m A Celebrity star shared another image of a close-up of the Kia Nero which he purchased at Bolton’s local Kia dealership.

The new car will be a great addition for Andy and his wife Nichola with whom he shares children Thomas, 13, and Hollie, 11.

The couple first met in 2005 and now reside together in a beautiful home in Cheshire.

The actor began appearing in the soap in 2000 and has been a mainstay of the cobbles ever since, being a part of some of the most explosive storylines the street has seen.

It was revealed earlier this year that Andy had signed a huge six-figure deal to remain on the soap for another 12 months.

An ITV source told HOAR: “Andy just loves Corrie. It is in his blood and he never wants to go anywhere else.

“Lots of other actors get itchy feet and want to go on to do other stuff and some think they want to star in ‘higher quality’ telly.

“But for Andrew, there is no higher-quality telly. It’s the nation’s favourite soap – a national institution that’s been on the box for 60 years, so why would he want to go anywhere else?”
