CORONATION Street’s Tim Metcalfe appears to have made a breakthrough discovery in a bid to uncover the evil Stephen Reid’s crimes.

New photos show actor Joe Duttine spotted on set for the ITV soap opera where he can be seen fishing around in the canal where Stephen disposed of his previous victim.

Tim appears to have spotted something in the river

Has he finally rumbled Stephen?

The evil son of Audrey, played by Todd Boyce, famously dumped Teddy Thompkins in the river after killing him earlier this year.

Teddy had grown suspicious of Stephen after discovering this his missing son, Leo, who Stephen had killed, was not actually residing in Canada as everyone believed,

In actual fact, Stephen had also bumped him off months prior after pushing him into a wheelie bin off the Underworld balcony.

For Stephen, his problem these days lie with Tim who has discovered his wayward behaviour with his mother, Elaine (Paula Wilcox).

With Elaine now living elsewhere, it seems that Tim is onto Stephen and appears to have discovered some information about who may be lurking in the canal.

In the new snaps, Tim can be seen attempting to fish something out of the canal with a large stick.

He can then be seen dashing along the canal whilst continuing to hold the stick.

Having spotted something up ahead, the husband of Sally appears to run away.

Other spoiler photo’s show Stephen and Tim having a violent fracas with one another.

Could Tim’s discovery be the reason why?

Fans will have to wait and see what exactly could be happening upon these scenes airing later in the year.

On-screen, Stephen is currently dealing with his guilt after being involved in another death, that of former business associate, Rufus.

Rufus’ former wife has grown increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his death and has been hell-bent on finding out the truth about what really happened.

He could then be seen dashing to his car
