A stalker has been terrorizing TV actress Mimi Keene, known for her roles in EastEnders and Sex Education, by turning up at her home at least seven times and leaving love notes in her pocket.

Notes and Flowers

The stalker, Emlis Lupeikis, 33, first targeted Keene by stuffing messages into her jacket pocket while she was dancing with friends at a nightclub in London’s West End. He had been tracking her on social media prior to this incident. Lupeikis then escalated his behavior by leaving flowers in her garden, followed by repeatedly banging on her door and professing his love for her.

Traumatizing Ordeal

Keene, 25, has described the ordeal as traumatizing, causing her anxiety and sleeplessness. She no longer feels safe in her own home and is even considering selling her property to escape from her stalker.

Legal Action

Lupeikis, originally from Lithuania but currently living in London, was recently sentenced to 16 months in jail. In addition, he has been given a restraining order that prevents him from contacting Keene or entering Hertfordshire, where she resides.

The Initial Encounter

The stalking began when Lupeikis approached Keene on March 3 at a London nightclub. He attempted to get her phone number but was rejected as she informed him she had a boyfriend. Lupeikis was then seen rummaging through Keene's jacket before being removed from the venue.

Repeated Attempts

After almost four months, on June 24, Keene discovered a bouquet of flowers in her garden. Later that same day, Lupeikis knocked on her door, claiming to have seen her in a nearby forest and a bar in London. Despite Keene's insistence for him to leave, Lupeikis stated he was not afraid of her boyfriend and left behind a card saying, "Mimi, I love you."

The Impact

The actress immediately contacted the police who apprehended Lupeikis. In her impact statement, Keene expressed her anxiety and the possibility of moving homes to ensure her safety. She now avoids being home alone and often drives around to feel secure.

Defendant's Admission and Sentencing

During the trial, Lupeikis admitted to stalking Keene and stated that he now realizes his behavior was inappropriate and obsessive. The prosecutor, Richard Mandel, highlighted Keene's fear due to Lupeikis knowing her address. In defense, Huda Musa stated that her client has come to understand the inappropriateness and obsessiveness of his actions.
