EMMERDALE’S Ethan planned to propose to Marcus – but little did he know he was in for a big shock.
Monday’s episode saw Ethan delighted when he and Marcus made up after Ethan was accused of cheating when he was actually looking for a place to live in together.
Ethan catches Marcus in the act
Marcus was revealed to be cheating on Ethan with an ex lover
But Ethan didn’t know Marcus was hiding a guilty secret.
Marcus received a visit from an ex lover and reminisced about their night together.
Meanwhile Ethan decided to propose to Marcus after talking to Leyla about being “all in” or “all out.”
But when Ethan got down on one knee, Marcus’s ex came walking down the stairs zipping up his trousers.
Ethan was left devastated as he caught Marcus cheating on him and demanded answers.
Marcus accused Ethan of always looking down at him because of his job.
He admitted he messed up but Ethan isn’t believing any of it and ordered him to leave before he kicks him out.
Is this the end of the road for Ethan and Marcus?
Fans were shocked by Ethan’s big gesture considering their rocky journey.
Taking to Twitter, one said: “Omg! Talk about bad timing!!! Real shocked at developments tonight!”
Another wrote: “No one in Emmerdale can just have a normal happy and healthy relationship can they… like come on it’s getting annoying now.”
A third penned: “How cringe is that? Ethan on his knees and lover boy doing up his flies just in case we don’t realise what they’ve been up to.”
Also in the episode, Vinny was touched when he finds that his family have arranged an impromptu birthday celebration for Liv.
The family celebrate what would be her 21st birthday in the Woolpack.
Mandy makes a cake for the occasion and they all toast to Liv in a very poignant moment.
