EMMERDALE fans have turned on Rhona Goskirk after she tried to stop Marcus Dean from dating Ethan Anderson.
The vet – who is played by actress Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – still hasn’t told Marlon that she knows Marcus, or that he is Pierce Harris’ son.
In tonight’s episode Marcus arrived for his date with Ethan only to be let down.
Ethan tried to let Marcus down gently after Rhona’s manipulation.
“I get the impression certain people would rather we keep things professional,” he said after Marcus pushed for an answer.
Realising what Rhona had done, Marcus went to confront her.
“You think I wouldn’t find out?” he said.
“Hoped he’d let me down gently is that it? Ethan told me what you’d said – it was clever, subtle.
“Do you know how manipulative you’ve been? This is like something my dad would do.”
Rhona was horrified at being compared to Pierce – and hit back at Marcus.
“Don’t you ever compare me to that man,” she said.
Marcus told her: “I know how hard this is for you.
“I’m trying to be as supportive to you as I can but can’t you see how unfair you’re being by telling people they shouldn’t go near me.
“I like Ethan – we click. And I’m sorry but I’m not going to miss out on the chance to get to know him better because I’m not the problem here.
“I’ve already had to hide who I was once before and I’m not doing that again.
“So if you’re that scared about Marlon finding out who I am, you better tell him.”
Viewers are sickened with Rhona for interfering in Marcus’ life like that and have turned on her.
One wrote: “Rhona trying to sabotage a relationship just to cover up her own deceit. Marcus is probably going to turn out to be a psycho but still Marlon deserves better!”
A second said: “Rhona should stop interfering with Marcus.”
Another added: “yes rhona you are like pierce. Butt out.”
