EMMERDALE icons Frazer Hines and Jean Rogers have enjoyed a long overdue catch-up to celebrate the soap’s 50th anniversary.

Frazer, 78, and Jean, 80, travelled up to Yorkshire for the mini reunion as the show marks its impressive small screen milestone.

The soap icons also caught up with Emmerdale archivist Tom Parfitt

The pair are best known for playing Joe Sugden and Dolly Skillbeck and they both joined the soap under its original name of Emmerdale Farm.

Frazer and Jean paid a visit to Harrogate’s Rudding Park hotel to reunite with 160 crew members for a huge celebratory lunch.

They also spent time with Emmerdale archivist Tom Parfitt, who has penned a book for the anniversary.

The pair were photographed alongside Tom and Doctor Who star Frazer was clutching a copy of the author’s tome, called 50 Years Of Emmerdale.

Sharing the photos on Twitter, Tom told his followers: “Honoured to meet up with two @emmerdale legends today @WhoFrazer (Joe Sugden) and @JeanRogersActs (Dolly Skilbeck) – thank you both for inviting me to join you.”

Jean, meanwhile, later tweeted her own message once she had returned back home in Sussex.

She said: “Just back down South from YTV reunion lunch with 160 or so production staff & crew, many of whom I worked with on @Emmerdale.

“Sat with former Drama Head Keith Richardson Producer Anne W Gibbons & Ist AD Phil Hartley!

“Just 2 actors there @WhoFrazer & me! Then met up with @TomJP90.”

Frazer joined Emmerdale in 1971 when it was called Emmerdale Farm and played the role of Joe Sugden for 23 years.

Jean, meanwhile, starred alongside Frazer as Dolly Skillbeck from 1980 to 1991.

Emmerdale is marking its 50th anniversary with a huge storyline that results in a number of shock deaths among villagers.

When a massive storm hit the Dales, there were plenty of casualties and some have sadly been fatal.

Harriet Finch and Liv Falherty have already succumbed to injuries sustained in the wild weather.

On Thursday night’s episode (October 20, 2022) Sampson went missing in the storm, leaving fans fearing he could be next on the death list.

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
