Emmerdale's Alice Dingle star Ursula Holden-Gill unrecognisable and with new career 17 years after the soap

EMMERDALE actress Ursula Holden-Gill has looks completely different since turning her back on the soap 17 years ago.

Ursula played Alice Dingle in Emmerdale for two years before her character was tragically killed off.

The former soap star looks totally different 17 years on and has changed her career

Alice was diagnosed with cancer while pregnant and, going against doctors’ advice, continued with her pregnancy and gave birth to a son prematurely.

She was given chemotherapy but, when it failed to work, Alice died of a morphine overdose after hatching an euthanasia plan with her husband Sam.

Ursula continued with acting after leaving Emmerdale before she enrolled on a teacher training course in 2007.

She has since established herself as a professional Storyteller, also qualifying as a Dramatherapist last year.

Ursula states on her website that she is ‘committed to Child and Family Trauma Therapy’.

Five years ago, the former soap star also a trained to become a Celebrant with The Order Of Bards, Ovates and Druids.

As a Family Celebrant, Ursula is able to conduct baby naming, Civil Partnership, funeral, handfasting, memorial, renewal of vows and wedding ceremonies.

Her website explains: “All proceeds from Ursula’s work as a Celebrant are gifted to her chosen charity: Compassion in World Farming.”

Ursula has changed her appearance, too.

She has ditched the short red crop she sported while playing Alice Dingle and has grown out her locks into softer, blonde shoulder-length tresses.
