CALEB Milligan’s life hangs in the balance after he was left for dead by a mystery attacker.

This week, Emmerdale residents try to figure out who could be to blame while news of a serial killer reaches the village.

Who tried to kill Caleb Milligan?

The police make an arrest this week

1. Shock culprit for Caleb attack

Who tried to kill Caleb Milligan?

The mystery haunts the eponymous ITV village this week as the schemer portrayed by Will Ash is left in a coma after being pushed over a ravine.

Many suspects are listed and include Caleb’s half-brother Cain as well as his love interest Leyla Harding, Will Taylor and Mackenzie Boyd.

Coming up, Chas and Cain Dingle (respectively played by Lucy Pargeter and Jeff Hordley) watch over Caleb in hospital.

Chas is suspicious of Cain when two detectives, DS Raveley and DC Croft, arrive to question him.

Meanwhile, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) is worried over Mackenzie Boyd’s (Lawrence Robb) involvement.

Elsewhere, Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) strange behaviour fuels Gabby and Kim’s suspicions.

Just as they’re leaving for the airport for their trip away, DS Raveley arrives to question a panicked Will.

Although Will is relieved when Kim Tate (Claire King) and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) corroborate his alibi, once the detective’s gone, Kim demands the truth behind Will’s shifty behaviour.

However, Leyla Harding’s (Roxy Shahidi) alibi is also rather fragile whilst Mack tries to play dumb when he is questioned.

While the mystery unravels progressively, fans have already begun to speculate who could be to blame for Caleb’s condition and one viewer believes Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) may try to get revenge for her daughter Gabby Thomas.

“It would be a brilliant twist if it did turn out to be Bernice”, they wrote.

Could they be right?

Could Charity be pregnant?

2. Surprise pregnancy

This remains to be seen but the police make an arrest this week as they believe they’ve found the culprit.

When his alibi doesn’t add up, and with Chloe failing to corroborate his story, the police arrest Mackenzie Boyd.

At the Police Station, the detectives continue to grill Mack and aware things are looking damning, he begins to panic.

His soon-to-be ex-wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) worries for him when Chloe begins to lose faith in his innocence.

Speaking of which, viewers have theorised Charity could bring more dilemma to Mack, particularly after her one night stand with Caleb.

In a sinister twist, fans believe Charity could be pregnant with Caleb’s child – but what would Mackenzie decide to do if this was the case?

Will he stay with Chloe despite her not believing he’s innocent and accept his chapter with Charity is closed?

Or will he crawl back to her once again to help her raise the baby?

Why is Victor in Emmerdale?

3. Newcomer at death’s door

Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) was livid when, despite his warnings, his father Victor came to the eponymous village in the hopes of reconnecting with his family.

Victor (played by Eddie Ossei) was thrown behind bars for 25 years after he brutally attacked a security guard during an armed robbery.

However, he’s adamant he has changed and his granddaughter Naomi Walters (Karene Peter) is adamant he deserves a chance.

Fans of the Yorkshire-based program have since reached the conclusion Victor is keen to bond with his long-lost family due to a deteriorating health.

According to many of them, Victor could be terminally ill and trying to catch up on lost time.

Could he still have a sinister motive for reconnecting with his son Charles?

Could Charles show a darker side of himself as he pushes Victor further and further away?

Could Lachlan White come to haunt Belle?

4. Killer return

Meanwhile, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has been on a cloud but she’s set for a rude awakening this week.

Tom King (played by James Chase) made his way back to the Dales and rekindled his romance with Belle before finding a place in Rishi Sharma’s home.

The young couple are relieved next week when Rishi finally allows them some alone time but their happiness is short-lived – PC Swirling pays them a visit with shock news.

Belle’s jaw drops when she finds out serial killer Lachlan White is being moved to another prison.

Worried, she opens up to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) about her anxieties around Lachlan’s prison transferral.

Diehard fans of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember that Belle was once romantically involved with Lachlan who ultimately made her life a nightmare.

He even orchestrated a huge masterplan to get revenge on her family from prison which caused the Woolpack to be set ablaze.

Lachlan was last seen on our screens in 2019 and remains in a maximum state prison for his deeds.

Belle is overwhelmed and worried about troubling Tom which leads her to the decision to keep the information from him but she books an appointment with her therapist.

At work, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) accidentally triggers Belle’s anxieties.

It becomes clear Belle’s really struggling and Vinny finds her in an anxious state.

The following day, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) unwittingly reveals to Tom how Belle’s dealt with a lot of trauma and he’s worried what she’s neglected to tell him.

Before long, Tom demands the full truth from Rhona and Jai but is concerned he’s been unable to reach Belle.

When Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) hears she’s gone off alone, both her and Tom head off in search of her.

With Tom coming back to the village and news of Lachlan reaching Belle after several years, fans are expecting the serial killer to make an impromptu return to their screens.

Could Lachlan escape prison and get his revenge?

Could Belle be in danger?

Is Amelia in danger?

5. Stalker horror

Daisy Campbell‘s on-screen alter ego familiarised herself with the life of an influencer last year which led to her developing an eating disorder.

However, this week, Amelia decides to try her luck again as her father Dan (played by Liam Fox) struggles to make ends meet.

It all begins when Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) returns from the Lake District to find her salon in chaos with Amelia filming a video.

Amelia tries to convince Mandy social media will be good for business at the salon.

The following day, Amelia does her utmost to persuade her father Dan her social media page could be a good thing for her and her daughter Esther, but the mechanic immediately disagrees.

Later on, however, he agrees to trust her and Amelia is excited to begin her new project.

Before long, a subscriber asks to donate to her page and Amelia is thrilled.

Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) soon becomes involved and gives her a few words of advice and Amelia is set to make some money.

Unfortunately, things take a turn when she has to admit to Sarah that she has received a creepy message.

Could the followed take things too far?
