Angela Wynter sent BBC One viewers into a frenzy when she reprised her role as the beloved Yolande Trueman, six years after her last ever appearance in the Square.
Yolande's Past
Yolande has spent years in Birmingham after she was given a job opportunity by an inspector from the Minute Mart head office in 2008. At the time, she was still married to Patrick and he was supposed to join her. However, he decided against it without her knowledge and soon received divorce papers confirming their separation.
A Second Chance
However, Yolande recently returned to Albert Square for Patrick (Rudolph Walker) who tried to win her back earlier this year. Upon her comeback, she revealed that her current partner Anton had kicked her out and she had nowhere to go. One thing led to another and Patrick and Yolande decided to give their relationship another go – but is everything with her just as it seems?
The Secret Unveiled
Coming up next week, Patrick and Yolande are smitten, but it’s clear she is hiding something after she keeps avoiding a call. Later in the café, Yolande’s ex-lover Anton arrives and a fight with Patrick quickly ensues. Back at No.20, Anton insists Yolande is leaving with him, and tells her he’s willing to forgive and forget. Things go from bad to worse when he adds he’s giving her until tomorrow to come back and make amends. Later on, Anton pleads with Yolande to return to Birmingham with him by giving her an ultimatum.
The Question of Loyalty
The blackmail almost gets to Yolande but why should she be worried? What sort of secret is she keeping from Patrick?
