STRICTLY star Tony Adams is set to transform his £3.5m mansion into a TEN bedroom property with a pool.

The former England captain, who waltzed off Strictly Come Dancing last month due to an injury sustained while on the show, plans to extend his countryside mansion to create enough bedrooms to nearly host a football team.

The 56 year old Arsenal legend is set to convert his stables into a two bedroom annexe complete with king sized beds.

His impressive home already boasts eight bedrooms, a grand entrance hall, a study and cinema, not to mention a sprawling garden and cellar.

And that’s just the inside. Tony shares his home with wife Poppy Teacher, a whisky heiress and five children. Tony is father to Amber and Oliver from his first marriage and shares three children with Poppy.

But his impressive home doesn’t end there. Outside, Tony enjoys a swimming pool, a paddock, a tennis court and is set in five acres.

A source said: “He and his wife Poppy Teacher have formally applied to the local council for planning permission to convert the outbuilding, now a snooker room, into separate ancillary accommodation.”

The added: “The ground floor would have its own entrance hall, sitting room, dining room, glass balustrade and fireplace for cosy winter nights with two en-suite bedrooms on the first floor.”

Tony bought the property in 2002 after hanging up his boots following a 19 year football career.

Next year the council will decide with to give Tony’s stable conversion the green light and as yet, there has been no objection from neighbours.

While on the show, Tony’s Full Monty strip routine saw Strictly’s viewing figures soar to more than 8.3 million when he performed a samba to You Sexy Thing with partner Katya Jones.

And while he was no stranger to being bottom of the leader board, Tony was forced to quit following an injury the day before the dance off against Tyler West and pro Dianne Buswell.
