The TV star ran into trouble as the edge of her dress caught on her heel

Helen, 39, took to the BBC dancefloor with her partner with Gorka Marquez, 32, to execute her first routine of the evening.

The pair performermed the Argentine Tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by the Eurythmics.

But it appears that she got so into the complex footwork of the dance, Helen ripped the hem of her sequin dress.

The star ran suffered the huge blunder live on air during her dance when her heel caught on her outfit which caused fraying at the edges of the gown.

It got worse for Helen as there was also a second accidential slit up the back of her blue sequined costume.

After her performance, Tess Daly couldn’t help but draw further attention to the wardrobe disaster as she aasked: “Is your dress okay? I know it got caught a little in your heel?”

However, the star is going from strength to strength in the competition and seemed unbothered by the mishap, as she laughed the incident off.

Helen was awarded 37 for her first routine by the judges with Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse both awarding her with a maximum score of ten points.

Whilst Craig Revel Horwood gave the presenter a nine and head judge Shirley Ballas gave her an eight.

It seems Helen had less luck with her next dance as she took to the ballroom to perform a Waltz to Only One Road by Celine Dion.

She had the joint second lowest score of the night for her second routine, alongside Fleur East.

The judges gave both Helen and Fleur a score of only 35 points for both their second dances in the semi-final.

Strictly Come Dancing aired on Sunday, having been shifted from its usual slot due to the England v France quarter-final World Cup match.

Countryfile star Hamza Yassin was left in tears as he stunned the judges with two jaw-dropping performances – but fans had the same complaint as he failed to achieve a Perfect Ten after Craig scored him a nine.

But it was actor and singer Will Mellor, 46, who recieved the lowest score of the night.

It seems he failed to impress the judges as he was only awarded 32 points for his Paso Doble and 38 for his Couple’s Choice with 31-year-old Nancy Xu.
