MULTIVERSUS Season 1 has just begun and already there are a number of people claiming to be aware of which TV and movie characters are coming to the roster.
WB Games previously announced some new characters coming to the first season of MultiVersus that weren’t available in the open beta.
Beetlejuice 2 is said to be in production.
Rick and Morty from the TV show of the same name were the first to be revealed, with a date set for Morty’s entrance on August 23.
Two new characters were then announced after some fans noticed promotional art for the characters had been released early.
Black Adam, a DC anti-hero played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Stripe the villain from the Gremlins films, have now been added to the roster.
Voice lines were found by fans in the game’s data which belong to the character Beetlejuice from the ‘80s movie of the same name.
The voice lines mention Beetlejuice’s name and feature some of his well known catchphrases such as “It’s showtime!” and “I’m the ghost with the most.”
There are also references to when Beetlejuice teams up with other characters such as Wonder Woman.
The most curious line talks about Beetlejuice teaming up with a “green-skinned angel”.
While officially announced characters, Reindog and Stripe, have green skin, it might also point to another speculated character.
Knowing how Beetlejuice likes things a bit evil, this line could be a hint that the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz could also enter the game soon.
The voice lines were originally posted to Twitter, but were quickly taken down by a copyright claim notice.
As copyright claims can only be made if someone has legitimate ownership to the material, it seems likely that the voice clips are genuine.
Despite this, neither Beetlejuice nor the Wicked Witch have been officially announced for MultiVersus.
Even if the clips are real there is no guarantee that they will be added to the roster this season.
A number of changes have been made to MultiVersus’ first season, including balancing changes for a number of characters, and more Battle Pass rewards.
