Clever Resident Evil 4 trick unlocks free Professional Mode – but it’s only for hardcore fans

THE Resident Evil 4 remake released last week and already plenty of fans have completed the game.

If this is you, and you want to unlock an ever harder challenger then Professional Mode is for you.

Leon is in for a shock in Professional Mode.

This is an extra difficulty setting, that is only for experts of the game.

How to unlock Professional Mode in RE4 remake

Luckily, it’s not as difficult to unlock Professional Mode as it is to complete it.

Once you complete the main story mode, Professional Mode should unlock automatically.

If this is the difficulty you really want to play on, then you can rush through the game on Easy in order to unlock it.

Any level of difficulty will unlock Professional Mode, and you can play New Game Plus in the new difficulty straight away.

Professional Mode ups the difficulty by removing autosaving and automatic checkpoints.

This means you will have to make sure you save manually as often as possible to prevent yourself from losing progress.

To do this you need to find typewriters, and if you want the S+ rank, you need to save less than 15 times throughout your playthrough.

Aside from saving, the timing for parries becomes more difficult as only perfect parries work.

Finally, there is one thing that makes this mode a little bit easier.

All weapon modifications will be unlocked from the start, which will give you a nice buff in the early game.
