PC and console players are buzzing with excitement after a mysterious teaser for a brand-new controller surfaced on YouTube last night. However, there's a twist that has left gamers wondering if they'll ever get their hands on it.

Teaser for Ubisoft's Skull and Bones Features Unique "Ship's Wheel Controller"

Gaming enthusiasts are eagerly speculating about the release and availability of the intriguing new controller teased by Ubisoft. The teaser is for the publisher's latest game, Skull and Bones, and showcases a mock "Ship's Wheel Controller."

The controller, which is not currently available for purchase, is being promoted as having "precision controls."

A Closer Look at the Wheel

The video trailer provides close-ups of the intricately carved ship's wheel, highlighting its features as a game controller. Two handles on the wheel are revealed to house familiar controls found on regular console gamepads, such as face buttons and a D-pad.

The wheel is touted as having a "full 360-degree range" and includes "velocity paddles" to control a player's ship speed in the game. Additionally, a large speaker with the Skull and Bones logo is mounted on top of the wheel's axle, adding a special "Shanty Mode" to enhance the pirate experience.

The Catch: It's Not for Sale

Unfortunately, the Skull and Bones Ship's Wheel Controller is not a product available for purchase. The fine print at the end of the trailer explicitly states that this device is "not for sale" and was developed solely for the promotion of Skull and Bones.

Despite this disclaimer, fans of the game are still discussing the teaser and speculating on the possibility of the wheel becoming a real product. Some have even expressed genuine interest in buying the ship's wheel controller and are disappointed by the lack of information regarding its price and availability. Players of other pirate games, such as Sea of Thieves, have also chimed in, expressing their desire to purchase the faux controller if it were real.

The Skull and Bones video game has been available in early access for a few days and is set for a full release today, February 16, 2024, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
